Incidents of fire have been rampant in Kolkata for the past few days. The latest incident has been reported from the Baghajatin area of South Kolkata where a four-storey building burst into flames on Tuesday afternoon. The area filled with thick black smoke triggering panic among the residents.
Immediately, the fire department was called and two fire tenders arrived at the spot. After much struggle, the firefighters managed to arrest the fire. No lose of life has been reported.
This incident comes amidst a series of fires reported across Kolkata in recent days. Just earlier, fires were reported in Ultadanga, Garia, and at the Calcutta Medical College, raising concerns over fire safety in the city.
